Dump Your Old TV At Denver Electronics Recycling Event

Get rid of your broken and unwanted electronics at Denver Public Works's Electronics Recycling Collection Event. Online appointment required

DENVER, CO – Make way for the new electronics you plan to acquire this holiday season by getting rid of the old ones. Clear out the clutter in your garage, basement or shed in time for fall by recycling your electronic waste at Denver Public Works Electronics Recycling Collection Event on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Since 2013, electronics are illegal to dump in Colorado landfills because of the harmful, toxic substances, that can pose risks to our health and the environment. These include: Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Dioxins, Phosphorus, Lead, Lithium, Mercury, Selenium and Silver.

You can dispose of your broken television, printer, fax machine or VCR safely by signing up for an appointment to bring it to the Denver Public Works recycling event between 8 a.m. - noon.

Once you schedule your drop off appointment, bring your dead electronics to Blue Star Recyclers, 953 Decatur St. on Oct. 20. You must pay a $5 fee per appliance.

Items accepted include: Televisions, monitors, CPUs, laptops, printers, scanners, faxes, keyboards, mice, stereos, external hard drives & storage devices, cellular phones, telephones, DVRs, VCRs, digital cameras, video recorders, MP3 players, video game consoles, rechargeable batteries, sprinkler control boxes, wires, cables and some small appliances such as microwaves.

Here's what they won't take: Air conditioners, refrigerators, large appliances, coffee makers, vacuums, blenders, garbage disposals, humidifiers, toasters, smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, pressurized canisters, oil or gas devices, fluorescent bulbs, neon signs, car batteries, small button batteries or household batteries.

You can also sign up for an e-cycling coupon to get reduced rates on electronics recycling in Denver.
