- City's new trash fee being leveed on apartment buildings that don't use the service. Regardless of whether small apartment complexes use the city's trash and recycling pickup services, the city imposes a minimum fee of $9 per unit per month. (9News)
- Six more claims against Denver Police settled for $1.6 million. Individuals that were injured while protesting against police brutality have fallen victim only to experience the same kind of brutality themselves. (Gazette)
- Denver has the worst traffic in Colorado. Denver was found to have the most severe traffic in Colorado, as indicated by a study that also presented supporting evidence for the city's ranking. The study revealed that the average time lost to traffic delays per commuter in 2022 was 54 hours, and Denver was tied for the 16th worst overall ranking out of the 280 U.S. cities examined. (KBCO)
- Historic hotel using crowdfunding to pay for lounge that would allow marijuana consumption. Colorado's long been a popular destination for cannabis tourists, but it's been against the law to consume cannabis in public places. Recently, consumption lounges were introduced, allowing visitors to smoke or consume cannabis in designated areas. As a result, a hotelier is now planning to provide an easy and legal way for guests to enjoy cannabis. (Benzinga)
- The EPA is planning to restrict the levels of persistent and harmful chemicals in drinking water. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has put forward a set of federal regulations that would restrict allowable levels of "forever chemicals" in drinking water. The new threshold for toxic PFAS chemicals that is equivalent to the minimum level. (CPR)
