- A person was fatally shot Tuesday evening in west Denver, according to the Denver Police Department. At the time of publishing, no arrests have been made, nor has information on a suspect been released. Following notification of next-of-kin, the Denver Medical Examiner's Office will publicly release the identity of the victim. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers by calling 720-913-7867 or leaving a tip online. (9News.com KUSA)
- Denver Mayor Michael Hancock responded to Douglas County Commissioner George Teal's proposal to seize Daniels Park from the City of Denver. After the Denver City Council passed a ban on concealed carry weapons in Denver parks, Teal expressed his desire for Douglas County to take possession of Daniels Park. On Wednesday, Hancock sent Teal a letter, which read in part: "I have no interest in [...] perpetuating a flawed notion that there is any merit to the idea that Douglas County can exercise eminent domain authority to acquire a park owned by the people of Denver and protected by our Charter because you disagree with an ordinance passed by the Denver City Council and signed into law to promote public safety." - After a two-year hiatus, the West Denver Brewery Bike Loop returns for the summer. Two Denver breweries — Hogshead Brewery and Odell Brewing Company (Sloan's Lake) — are participating in the celebration of biking and beer. Get more details on each of the rides here. (edgewaterecho.com)
