Here are the top stories today in Denver:

  1. Denver adds two more safe parking lots for car campers. Denver City Council approves expansion of safe parking areas for people experiencing homelessness. The Safe Parking Initiative provides refuge for individuals using their cars as shelter, allowing them to retain their valuable asset and accommodate pets. (FOX31)
  2. Got $40? That's what it will cost to get into Casa Bonita, if you are lucky to get a ticket. Casa Bonita is reopening in limited capacity starting Friday, with tickets available for select groups. Majority must wait until June 29-July 1 for entry. (KDVR)
  3. What happens to the Park Hill Golf Course now that it's been re-rezoned again? Park Hill Golf Course has been rezoned by Denver City Council as open space, bringing it closer to owners' intended transformation into a fee-based, 18-hole golf course. Previous plans for a mixed-use project with housing and retail are no longer possible on the site with the revision of the zoning after voters turned down the site plan in April. (Denverite)
  4. Your TABOR refund check ends up being more than $800. New reports released on Tuesday suggest that the amount of TABOR refunds received by Coloradans could exceed the initial estimations. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR) mandates that any surplus revenue collected by the state must be refunded to taxpayers. Due to the revised estimates indicating a higher TABOR refund amount, your return is anticipated to be greater than originally expected. (FOX31)
