Heavy Rain, Street Floods In Lakewood And West Denver Suburbs
Hail and high water hit Lakewood Wednesday afternoon as slow-moving thunderstorms passed through the area.
LAKEWOOD, CO – Heavy rainfall and slow-moving clouds hit Lakewood and the western Denver suburbs hard Wednesday afternoon and was expected to last until evening, the National Weather Service said.
"With weak flow aloft and abundant moisture, the storms will be slow-moving and may produce heavy rainfall across portions of the higher terrain and over southern areas of the front range urban corridor," the NWS said.
The neighborhood at 21st Street and Urban was hit hard by hail and high water in the early afternoon.

Street flooding was reported on Kipling near 25th Avenue by West Metro Fire Rescue. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.
Weather forecasters predicted that there could be more areas of localized flash flooding overnight.
