Lakewood Government Agency Seeks Public Help With Theft [WATCH]

Someone drove off with a trailer-full of equipment from the Bureau of Land Management's Lakewood offices. The pickup was captured on video.

LAKEWOOD, CO – A bold thief made off with a trailer-full of equipment from the Lakewood offices of the Bureau of Land Management, the agency said. The BLM is asking for the public's help to identify the Dodge pickup truck captured on surveillance video in the "early morning hours." Lakewood police confirmed that the theft happened March 20.

Inside the trailer was $15,000-worth of meteorological equipment, the agency said. Most of that was gone when the trailer was recovered a few days later in Silverthorne, Colorado in the parking lot of an outlet mall, said John Romero, Lakewood PD's public information officer.

The agency posted the March surveillance video from their offices at 2850 Youngfield St. on their Facebook page. The BLM is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of person or persons responsible. Persons with information about this incident are encouraged to call (303) 239-3888. Callers can remain anonymous.
