- Globeville Railyard fatality prompts BNSF to implement policy changes. BNSF Railway is implementing a policy and procedure revision for worker safety after the death of a BNSF worker at its Globeville Yard in Denver. The changes aim to address safety concerns surrounding locomotive operations and switching of railroad freight cars. (9News)
- U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper's take on Colorado's migrant crisis. Hickenlooper emphasizes the need for additional resources in both the city and state, stating that burdening Colorado's cities unfairly with federal responsibilities — he vows to work alongside the congressional delegation to secure increased funding to help pay for Denver's costs, which have mostly been for bus tickets out of the state. - Colorado's non-farm employment sees growth of 3,900 jobs in May. The latest report from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment reveals an addition of 2,800 private sector jobs and 1,100 government jobs in May. The state's unemployment rate remained steady at 2.8 percent for consecutive months, suggesting that the state's economy is relatively stable. (CPR)
