Here are the top stories today in Denver:
- Not tigers or bears, but still very dangerous: There have been four mountain lion sightings reported near Denver in recent days. Sightings include big cats approaching homes and hanging out in trees near I-70. Mountain lions have been spotted on camera near homes in Wheat Ridge and near the REI store in Confluence Park. (Denver Patch)
- Smoky skies in Denver? Officials say it's because of a fire that started on Monday in Englewood. According to Denver Fire, the blaze began at 2400 West Union Avenue, which is listed as Waste Management's South Metro Transfer Station. One worker was reportedly treated on the scene. (FOX 31 Denver)
- Three professors of color will not be returning to the University of Denver this fall, prompting a conversation about diversity among faculty. According to Professor Terri M. Davis, the Black former director of the Doctorate in Psychology program for eight years, the resources offered by the university "fell short of what she needed" to make the changes she wanted on campus.
