Here are the top stories in Denver today:

  1. Colorado will likely move to permanent Daylight Savings Time if new Federal bill passes. Colorado has already passed a law that would switch to permanent daylight saving time, but it has to be approved by Congress. A recently introduced federal bill seeks to achieve the goal of allowing states to determine if they observe daylight saving time throughout the year. (FOX31)
  2. After a highway crash, a family moving to Colorado loses all of their belongings. A family of four was involved in a highway accident on I-70 while moving to Colorado on, resulted in injuries and the loss of their belongings. The crash occurred when another driver collided with their moving truck as they were driving to their new home in Green Valley Ranch last week, from Nevada. (7News)
  3. Lawmaker working with Federal Housing officials in hopes of protecting Marshall Fire victims from foreclosure. In an effort to aid victims of natural disasters such as the Marshall Fire, U.S. Representative Joe Negus has penned a letter to Federal Housing Administration Commissioner Julia Gordon, urging the agency to modify its Home Equity Conversion Mortgage occupancy guidelines. 4. It's been three years since the pandemic wrecked havoc on many local businesses and things are getting back to normal My Brother's Bar. The Highland House, now known as My Brother's Bar, holds the distinction of being the oldest bar in town, having opened its doors in 1873 when Denver was just fifteen years old. The bar closed its doors on March 14, 2020, on the eve of the mandate to close. At the time, it was anticipated that the shutdown would only last a few weeks, and operations would resume as usual. However, three years later, My Brother's Bar is finally able to restore its late-night hours and return to regular business. (Westword)
