Here are the top stories today in Denver:
- Residents in Brighton voice their opposition to the proposal to build the largest battery factory in Colorado. Amprius Technologies unveiled its plan to construct a lithium-ion battery production plant spanning 775,000 square feet. The facility is expected to become operational by 2025 and will be situated at 18875 E. Bromley Ln, near a residential community, several schools, Brighton's water towers, and Platte Valley Medical Center. (CBS4)
- Home of the original Quiznos shuttered. The original Quiznos restaurant located at 1275 Grant Street in Denver was seized by the City and County of Denver for unpaid taxes last week. There are hopes that a new franchisee will take over, but for now, the flagship store remains locked up tight. (Westword)
- Colorado's real estate sector is turning to historical data to comprehend trends amidst declining home prices. If you're in the market for a new home in Colorado, there is some good news: there were almost 10,000 homes available for sale at the end of March, a 41.8 percent increase from the previous year. Additionally, prices are slightly lower than before. (CO Sun)
- Serious injuries caused by hit and run on I-25 on early Sunday morning. Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 25 and I-70. The incident, which involved three motorists, resulted in one person being transported to the hospital with serious injuries. (KDVR)
