Pedestrian Killed By Light Rail Train In Denver

Light Rail trains in south-central Denver were shut down both directions after a pedestrian died.

DENVER, CO – A pedestrian was struck and later died Thursday after being hit by an RTD light rail train in south-central Denver. The accident happened at the same location where another pedestrian was killed in August.

Police shut down travel on the light rail C, D, E, F and H lines and closed eastbound South Bayaud Ave. to traffic for the investigation. Traffic on the road and rail was reopened later in the day.

The Denver Post reported that a "man in his 30s stepped in front of the train," according to Jay Casillas, Denver Police spokesman.
