- Avalanche risk in Colorado grows as record amounts of snow continue to fall. Colorado's winter storms have created dangerous conditions for avalanches, particularly due to the strong winds in the backcountry. The large storms that have been passing through the Colorado mountains this year, are typically the main cause of most avalanches. (FOX31)
- Denver needs to rethink its approach to homelessness. A recently formed political organization in Denver is urging voters to explore alternative approaches to combat homelessness, in contrast to the methods proposed by lawmakers and mayoral candidates. (Westword)
- How many candidates in Denver's upcoming municipal election have taken money from developer that wants to build on land held in a perpetual conservation easement? While all the contenders in a a recent mayoral forum claimed that they had not received any donations from the firm or its affiliated entities, at least three candidates have received $500 donations from the company's founder and principal, Andrew Klein. - CDOT claims that new smart sensors are easing traffic congestion on I-25. The Colorado Department of Transportation have been actively working to alleviate rush-hour congestion on Interstate 25. A technology-driven management strategy allows motorists during the afternoon rush hour were able to save an average of 2.5 minutes in travel time over the 14-mile drive from Lone Tree's Ridgegate Parkway to University Boulevard.
