Here are the top stories today in Denver:

  1. Colorado's Front Range was inhabited by nearly 50 Native American tribes before Denver was established. Colorado's history frequently makes headlines, such as the proposed renaming of Mt. Evans or the removal of a Civil War soldier statue, but it rarely includes the rich history of the Native American tribes that resided area long before the settlers arrived. (CPR)
  2. Despite low turnout, big bucks continue to flow into the Denver municipal election. Today's municipal election in Denver includes the first open seat for the mayor's office in nearly 12 years and has generated significant attention from political insiders and affluent contributors. Voter turnout is expected to be significantly lower compared to even four years ago. (CO Newsline)
  3. Here are some tips to protect your plants and flowers before today's cold and snow hit. To safeguard your plants from frost, the most effective method is to cover them with protective materials such as blankets or sheets. However, it is essential to ensure that these covers remain dry, using a damp blanket can cause further cooling of the plants, which could exacerbate the situation. (FOX 31)
  4. Denver's housing market is still experiencing faster sales than almost all other metro areas in the U.S. For almost three years, the housing market along the Front Range has been marked by a depleted supply, limited development, and extraordinarily high home prices. According to the March market report by Realtor.com, Denver homes rank as the eighth most expensive in the country among 50 of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. The median listing price for March was $655,000. (KDVR)
  5. A group of food truck proprietors join forces to launch a new restaurant. Yuan Wonton has teamed up with two small businesses, Pho King Rapidos and Sweets & Sourdough Bakery, to open a new restaurant. The brick-and-mortar location will be located 2878 Fairfax St., and they plan to be open by this May. (9News)
