Security Guard Was Victim Of Denver Shooting: Police
Lucardio Kroener, 28, was shot and killed after a physical altercation with an armed man on Market Square early Friday morning.

DENVER, CO – Denver police are seeking the public's help to identify the person who shot a security guard and wounded another person early Friday morning in the LoDo neighborhood.
Around 1:53 a.m. Sept. 28, police were summoned to 15th and Market Streets to investigate a shooting. They found a man injured with gunshot wounds. That person was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Shortly thereafter, Lucardio Kroener, 28 working as an on-duty security guard in the area confronted a possible suspect at Market and 14th Streets, police said. A physical fight took place between Kroener and the suspect, and the man shot and killed Kroener, police said.

Police described the shooter as an African American male, between 25-35 years old, with a stocky build. He had braided hair, facial hair and was wearing a dark colored hoodie, police said. The suspect and others were observed fleeing the area on foot, police said.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is offering $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in this double-shooting homicide and aggravated assault. Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to call the Denver Police Department (720-913-2000) or Crime Stoppers (720-913-7867). Callers may remain anonymous.
