  1. Suncor continues to dump 'forever chemicals' into metro Denver's rivers. Discharges of water tainted with PFAS “forever chemicals” from the Suncor refinery show that the releases spiked this past May. The chemicals released are used as firefighting foam that contain PFAS chemicals for years. Earthjustice monitors Suncor’s discharges that are pouring into Sand Creek and the South Platte River.   2. Neighbors fuming about pop-up encampment at day shelter. A homeless encampment near a Denver shelter at High Street and Colfax is raising concern among residents and prompts action by staff to ensure safe access for those in need. Denver metro area now has more than 7,000 people that are experiencing homelessness. (FOX31)
  3. EPA grant aiding cleanup of contaminated tank farm in Denver's Sun Valley. Denver Housing Authority (DHA) was awarded over $1 million by EPA to remediate the Sun Valley neighborhood's Zuni Tank Farm. The funds will be used to address contamination on the site and eventually paving the way for affordable housing and a riverfront park. (KUSA)
  4. Dead horse discovered tied to telephone pole in far northeast Denver. Denver Animal Protection is seeking tips about a dead horse that was found tied to pole in far northeast Denver. The brown and white gelding was discovered on June 23 near Denver International Airport. Contact Crime Stoppers with information. (9News)
