- Colorado lawmakers hoping to deliver $5 million emergency payment Denver Health. The hospital experienced a loss of $34 million in operating expenses last year, which was attributed to the increase in uncompensated care and the higher cost of health care. According to Denver Health, the amount of uncompensated care rose from $60 million to $120 million between 2020 and 2022.
