We will soon hire a new Associate Vice Chancellor for Research. The search committee, led by Professors Laura Argys, PhD, Economics, and Christopher Yakacki, PhD, Mechanical Engineering, has advanced four finalists who will visit campus next week. 

Hiring a strong leader is a key step for our Strategic Plan, as this AVC will support Goal No. 3 of becoming internationally known for our research and creative work. CU Denver launched the AVC search last year. Meanwhile, College of Engineering, Design and Computing Dean Marty Dunn has served in an interim capacity as chief research officer since last summer.

We have listed the search committee composition and more details about the AVC position on the CU Denver Leadership Search website. You can access the finalists’ application materials on the AVC for Research SharePoint site with your CU Denver credentials.  

Campus engagement is critical in our leadership searches. We encourage the campus community to participate in open forums next week. The sessions will be held in the Jake Jabs Event Center (First floor, Business School) and Terrace Room (Second floor, Lawrence Street Center). The schedule is as follows:
