Here are the top stories today in Denver:
- Denver set a new day time low temperature yesterday. Denver experienced a record low for Feb. 23 as temperatures plummeted to minus 11 degrees, breaking the previous daily low record of minus 7 degrees set last year. (Denverite)
- Denver sweeps a homeless camp and hauls away tons of trash. A homeless encampment located on the northeast side of I-25 and Broadway was the target of a joint operation between Denver Department of Transportation & Infrastructure, Denver Police officers, and an environmental hazmat cleanup company. The cleanup crews were able to haul away over 2.5 tons of trash and debris and 120 pounds of propane. (Out There)
- The old Denver jail is being used to store seized marijuana. A mayoral candidate said that the City of Denver is misusing its assets, and one of them being wasted is the city's old jail – which currently being used as a storehouse for confiscated weed. (Westword)
- If you're a landlord, and you haven't registered your rental, the city is on the lookout for violators. The City of Denver has commenced issuing notices of violation of city law to numerous landlords throughout the city. The law mandates that landlords of multi-unit properties must apply for a license to operate, ensuring that their buildings comply with city code standards for habitation. (CBS4)
