The First Judicial District Attorney's Office has received multiple calls from older adults who have received an electronic statement from Amazon showing an invoice for a large purchase which needs immediate attention. The invoice looks real and contains the Amazon logo. Here are a few suggestions to determine the invoice to be false:
Click on the logo and see if a box appears around it
Hover your mouse over the sender to see the real email address
Look to see if the URL is different than the website (Example: amazonx.com, instead of amazon.com)
