Man Guilty Of Shooting Girlfriend At Westminster Hotel
Eric Carl Pospisil, 40, was found guilty of shooting his girlfriend in the head in a hotel parking lot and fleeing in a stolen car.

GOLDEN, CO – A man accused of shooting his girlfriend in the head in a Westminster hotel parking lot, then fleeing to Wyoming in a stolen car, was found guilty by a Jefferson County jury.
Eric Carl Pospisil, 40, was found guilty Jan. 17, 2019 after a four-day trial. He was accused of attempted murder, assault, auto theft and tampering with evidence, the Jefferson County District Attorney's office said Tuesday.
Just after midnight on April 1, 2018, Westminster police were called to the parking lot of the Westin Hotel at 10600 Westminster Blvd. They found Amanda Pittock, 35, lying in the parking lot, with a gunshot wound to the head.

The jury heard testimony that Pospisil and Pittock, who were boyfriend and girlfriend, had been arguing in the parking about money earlier in the evening, the DA's office said in a statement.
Four hours later, Westminster police were notified that a car reported stolen out of Lakewood two weeks earlier had been set on fire in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The car fit the description of the car Pospisil was driving, police said. A witness in the parking lot at the time of the shooting caught Pospisil on video leaving the parking lot, the DA's office said.

Eric Pospisil was arrested four days later, on April 5.
"Ms. Pittock suffered severe brain injuries and will be impacted by those injuries for the rest of her life," a statement from the DA's office said.
Pospisil is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Feb. 15.
