Woman Found Dead Near Wheat Ridge Identified

GOLDEN, CO – The Jefferson County Sheriff's office released the name of a woman found dead on Feb. 11 behind a commercial building near Wheat Ridge.

Deputy Michael Taplin, communications director of the JeffCo Sheriff's Office said the woman was Naomi Rodriguez, who was "in her early 20's." Rodriguez's death was deemed "suspicious" when her body was found around 7 a.m. near a building in the 4800 block of Ward Road in unincorporated Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner's office found "no signs of trauma" in an autopsy, but had not yet released a cause of death, Taplin said. It may take up to six weeks for toxicology results to come back, Taplin said.
