2 Arrested After Bus Stop Stabbing: Lakewood Police

Two men were taken into custody in connection with the stabbing and pistol-whipping of a victim Wednesday evening.

LAKEWOOD, CO – Two men were arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man at a Lakewood bus stop on a busy intersection Wednesday evening during rush hour, Lakewood police said.

Denver and Lakewood police responded to multiple calls about armed men near Sheridan Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue around 5 p.m. They found a man at the bus stop who had been stabbed and had possibly been beaten with a gun, police said. He was taken to a hospital.

"There was some kind of altercation," said Rob Albrets, Lakewood police public information officer. "We don’t know yet what kind of relationship, if any, the victim and attackers had."

Denver police found two men a few blocks away at Wests 14th Avenue and Chase Street in Lakewood. They were taken into custody. One man had a gun "on or near him" and a knife was also recovered, Albrets said.

Police did not know the condition of the victim, Albrets said.
