• Visions of Sugar Beets (goldentoday.com) — A century ago, Jefferson County farmers shipped sugar beets on a tramway line that ran through Lakewood, linking local fields to Denver’s refineries. This history piece traces the rise and slowdown of Colorado’s beet-sugar boom, including hopes for factories nearby and how changing sugar prices reshaped farming across Lakewood’s corner of Jeffco.

• Douglas County approves construction defect litigation ordinance (castlerocknewspress.net) — Lakewood gets a mention as one of several Colorado cities whose construction defect rules helped inspire Douglas County’s newly approved ordinance on how homeowners and builders handle faulty construction.
