Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:
- The City of Lakewood is currently looking for community members to serve on its boards and commissions. The deadline to apply online is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jul. 5. Local residents can learn about specific qualifications at Lakewood.org/GetOnBoard. (Press Release Desk)
- Former Congressman Bob Beauprez endorsed Tim Reichert in the GOP Primary. The former representative of the Lakewood area cited Reichert's life experience and character as the reason for his endorsement. The primary election takes place on Tuesday, Jun. 28. Reichert is facing Erik Aadland and Laurel Imer in the primary, the winner of which will face Brittany Petersen, the presumptive Democratic nominee. (coloradopolitics.com)
- Lakewood Police say they clocked the driver of a Dodge Ram going 91 mph through an intersection on Saturday. The speed limit was 45 mph. No one was injured as a result of the speeding, and the driver received 20 license points. LPD had some punny tweets after the fact — click the link to read them. (FOX 31 Denver)
