• Cellphone left on charger blamed for fire that destroyed mobile home in Lakewood (9news.com) — A Lakewood family escaped without injuries after a fire, likely sparked by an overheated cellphone left on a charger, destroyed their mobile home near West Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard. West Metro Fire Rescue quickly controlled the blaze and is using the incident to highlight the dangers of lithium‑ion batteries in everyday devices.

• The Action Center has been Lakewood's community food pantry since 1968 (denverpost.com) — Lakewood residents in need can access free groceries, clothing, and support at The Action Center on West 14th Avenue, which now serves about 200 households a day. Operating since 1968, the nonprofit relies heavily on volunteers and food rescue donations to keep shelves stocked, especially as SNAP cutbacks drive more families to seek help.
