'Cider Days' Festival Celebrates Lakewood's Agricultural Heritage
Cider pressing, live bluegrass music, pig tricks, a vintage tractor pull and apple pie eating contests await Oct. 6-7.

LAKEWOOD, CO – Fall is around the corner, and thoughts turn to ... apples. In your back yard, in your neighbor's yard, in orchards around the state, Colorado's apples need a place to be – and that place is the Lakewood Heritage Center on Oct. 6-7 for the "43rd Annual Cider Days."
Billed as "Lakewood’s signature fall festival," Cider Days is a throwback homage to the agricultural history of Lakewood.
The festival is held from 10 a.m - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow St. Admission is Admission is $8 ($5 for children ages 3-12), which includes all entertainment and kids amusements.

Events include cider pressing, live bluegrass music and a vintage tractor pull. Also, what better way to celebrate apples and harvests than an apple pie-eating contest and baking challenge. Kids can also watch "trick pigs and a magic show" and make their way through a hay-bale maze, ride a burro or meet other fuzzy friends at the petting zoo.
You can buy fermented and non-fermented cider, and enjoy the Lakewood Beer Garden and a hard-cider tasting (tickets are $30 in advance/ $38 day-of for unlimited tasting of 50 different hard ciders.)
