LAKEWOOD, CO — Colorado Christian University is the 61st best regional university in the western United States, according to U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Colleges rankings.

The rankings evaluate over 1,400 colleges and universities across the country on 17 different academic measures, with each school placed into a category based on its mission and – in some cases – geographic location, the city of Lakewood wrote in its weekly economic development report.

Its regional rankings compare universities and colleges with other schools in the same group and region, the report said. Colorado Christian tied with Houston Baptist University and Western Colorado University for the No. 61 spot.
