Dad And Son Accused Of Lakewood Bus-Stop Stabbing
Two men arrested for allegedly stabbing and pistol-whipping a man at a Lakewood bus stop face charges of attempted murder and assault.

LAKEWOOD, CO – A father and son who were arrested for allegedly stabbing and pistol-whipping a man at a Lakewood bus stop last week will appear in Jefferson County District Court this week.
Alexander Medina, 56, and Richard Angelo Medina, 36, are in custody of Jefferson County jail facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and assault. Their bail amount is listed online at $500,000.
Police were summoned to the EZPawn at 5201 W. Colfax Ave. around 5 p.m. on Oct. 18 following multiple reports of a man waving a gun, according to an arrest affidavit. They found a man, age 64, with stab wounds to his torso and neck and injuries on his face. The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Denver police officers responding to the scene arrested the older and younger Medina a few blocks away in an alley near 14th Avenue and Chase Street. Police also reported they found a gun in a trash can in the alleyway and a "silver folding box-cutter type knife," that appeared to have blood on the blade, the affidavit said.
Witnesses told police they observed an altercation at the bus stop, and a man left and returned with a gun and another man. Police said surveillance from the pawn shop showed an altercation in which officers identified Richard Medina as allegedly waving a gun and Alexander Medina as allegedly stabbing the victim on the ground, the affidavit said.
