  1. Governor Polis' new law to help save Coloradans on gas and vehicle registration went into effect yesterday, Jul. 1. The bill was sponsored by Sen. Brittany Pettersen of Lakewood, along with Rep. Dylan Roberts of Avon and Rep. Barbara McLachlan of Durango. It will reportedly lower vehicle registration costs and the anticipated statewide road usage fee. According to the Governor, this bill is expected to save Coloradans $45 million at the gas pump and nearly $34 million in vehicle registration fees. Several additional state laws also took effect on Jul. 1, including reductions of business startup and healthcare professional licensing fees in Colorado, and a new ability for businesses to impose a maximum 2 percent surcharge on credit card transactions. Colfax Ave.) today or tomorrow from noon to 5:00 p.m. for "Enlightenment," a kiln-fired stained glass painting exhibit by Maria Valentina Sheets.
