ROXBOROUGH PARK, CO — West Metro Fire Rescue was on the scene for an icy water rescue Tuesday, when four children were playing on the ice and ended up in the water, the department said Tuesday evening.
A young male teenager was rescued from the water by a dive team and taken to a local hospital, according to West Metro Fire Rescue. The two girls and another boy that fell through the ice were closer to the shore and pulled out by neighbors who used hoses, extension cords and ropes, the department added.
According to West Metro Fire, the water is shallow on the shoreline but quickly drops off a shelf to seven or eight feet deep.
