Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Jefferson County
David Lawrence Uecke, 44, is accused of stabbing a woman he was intimately involved with, according to the Jefferson County DA's Office.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO—David Lawrence Uecke, 44, appeared Thursday in Jefferson County District Court where he was advised of the charges filed against him in the stabbing of a woman with whom he was intimately involved, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.
He has been charged with attempted first degree murder, two counts of first degree assault and two violent crime counts.
On August 8, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to 8450 W. Cross
Street, near Southwest Plaza, on a report of a stabbing.

According to the arrest affidavit, they found a 41-year-old woman at the bus stop who had sustained, what appeared to be, a stab wound near the center of her throat. She was transported to the hospital.
Witnesses reported that the assailant had run from the area.

Uecke and the woman had just met three days earlier and were involved in an intimate
relationship, according to the affidavit.
He remains in custody at the Jefferson County jail on a $75,000 bond. He is due back in court
on at 1:30 on Sept. 1, 2020 for preliminary hearing.
