Lakewood Coronavirus Update: 633 New Cases Reported

Here are the latest COVID-19 case counts in Lakewood and vaccination rates for local counties.

LAKEWOOD, CO — Over the past two weeks, 633 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Lakewood, according to data from Jeffco Public Health.

Since the county first started tracking the case data in early 2020, more than 13,500 Lakewood residents have tested positive for COVID-19, the agencies' reports show.

Around 45,620 cases have been reported in Jefferson County, and 779 people have died due to COVID-19, according to state public health data.

Around 66 percent of eligible Jeffco residents have received at least their first dose of the vaccine, and 49 percent are fully immunized.

Percent of residents vaccinated with at least one dose:

  • Broomfield: 70.7 percent
  • Boulder County: 67.2 percent
  • Denver: 62 percent
  • Douglas County: 60.3 percent
  • Adams County: 51.8 percent
  • Arapahoe County: 53.9 percent

Outside Denver's metro area, Eagle (70.9 percent) and Summit (72.9 percent) counties have some of the highest vaccination rates in the state.

More than 1,300 health care providers and clinics in Colorado are offering vaccines.

Some counties have higher rates due to higher populations of people ages 60 and older, and front-line workers. And some eligible Coloradans are choosing to hold off on getting vaccinated.

Colorado has seen a surge of coronavirus cases over the past several weeks, and around half of those cases are variants, state public health officials said. Between Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, 1,129 new cases were reported in our state.
