1. Colorado legislator Sen. Brittany Pettersen, D-Lakewood, spoke out about the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. She said, “Today's ruling is a travesty, but this fight is far from over.” (coloradopolitics.com)
2. Pets are available for adoption at Lakewood area shelters. Cats named Gelato, Cheeseburger, and Cannoli, and dogs named Mama Cherish, Francesca, and Leena are all up for adoption. (Lakewood Patch)
3. Arc Thrift Stores hosted a sensory-friendly concert with members of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday. The event allowed arc Thrift Stores’ ambassadors – who all have intellectual and developmental disabilities – to enjoy the concert in a more comfortable atmosphere. (Denver 7 Colorado News)
4. Larry H. Miller dealerships are hoping to ease the financial burden of local families in need of school supplies in Colorado. The Denver7 Pack A Backpack School Supply Drive will be held at the dealerships, including the one in Lakewood, Jul. 5-31. The community is encouraged to donate backpacks, pencils, scissors, and more school supplies during the event. (The Denver Post)
