Jefferson County Coronavirus Outbreaks In Businesses: 1 Reported

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Nearly 4,000 coronavirus outbreaks have been reported in Colorado since the pandemic began, but this week, Jefferson County stores and chain restaurants only reported one outbreak, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

The number of stores and restaurants reporting outbreaks in Denver's metro area has declined over the past month, according to state public health data.

Jefferson County restaurants and stores have strict cleaning procedures and coronavirus safety measures in place; however, some businesses have dealt with ongoing outbreaks due to the number of people who visit them each week. Some outbreaks have lasted more than two months since they were first detected.

The number of outbreaks in Jeffco businesses has dropped dramatically over the past month. Among stores and chain restaurants, only one small Jeffco outbreak was reported as of Wednesday:

• The Keg, 14065 W Colfax Dr, Lakewood: Since this outbreak was first reported Monday, two cases have been confirmed.

If you're concerned about contracting the virus and delivery or takeout services aren't an option for you, washing your hands as frequently as possible, social distancing and wearing a mask will go a long way in protecting you in stores, health officials said.
