JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — More than 3,900 coronavirus outbreaks have been reported in Colorado since the pandemic began, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The number of stores and restaurants reporting outbreaks in Denver's metro area has declined over the past month, according to state public health data.
Jefferson County restaurants and stores have strict cleaning procedures and coronavirus safety measures in place; however, some businesses are dealing with ongoing outbreaks due to the number of people who visit them each week.

Some outbreaks have lasted more than two months since they were first detected.
Here is a list of active outbreaks at chain restaurants and stores in Jefferson County as of Wednesday:

- Costco, 5195 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada: Since this outbreak was first reported in late October, 29 COVID-19 cases have been reported among staff, according to the state public health data.
- Walmart, 5957 W 44th Ave., Lakeside: Since Jan. 25, six cases have been reported among employees.
- McDonald's, 6801 W Alameda Ave., Lakewood: Since this outbreak was first reported Jan. 26, four positive tests have been confirmed among staff, the state data shows.

If you're concerned about contracting the virus and delivery or takeout services aren't an option for you, washing your hands as frequently as possible, social distancing and wearing a mask will go a long way in protecting you in stores, health officials said.
