Multiple Outages Hit Almost 20K Lakewood Customers

LAKEWOOD, CO — About 19,546 Lakewood customers found themselves without power Wednesday afternoon, Xcel Energy reports due to 199 different outages throughout the city. By Thursday morning, the number has dropped to roughly 128 outages affecting 3,714 customers.

661 outages affected 54,022 customers in metro Denver as of 4:32 p.m. Wednesday, according to Xcel. By Thursday at 5:30 a.m., the number has dropped to 7,038 customers affected by 391 outages.

Statewide, 715 outages affected 59,388 customers, according to Xcel Energy. By Thursday morning, the number had dropped to 400 outages affecting 7,048 customers.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder reported gusts up to 91 miles an hour, and a gust of 107 miles per hour was reported in Lamar.
