Significant Weather Advisory Issued For Parts Of Metro Denver

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for southwest Denver, south Lakewood, Littleton and other areas.

The National Weather Service has issued weather alerts for north Douglas County, southwest Arapahoe County and east central Jefferson County. A significant weather advisory will be in effect from until 4 p.m. Friday.

Half-inch hail and wind gusts of up to 40 mph will be possible, weather officials said.

"At 329 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Morrison, or 14 miles southwest of Denver, moving southeast at 35mph," the advisory read.

The following areas were listed in the storm warning: Southwestern Denver, southern Lakewood, western Centennial, northwestern Highlands Ranch, Littleton, southwestern Englewood, southern Golden, Greenwood Village, Evergreen, Roxborough Park, Sheridan, Morrison, Idledale, Tiny Town, Chatfield Reservoir, Red Rocks Park and Indian Hills.
