1. Four constuction projects — two next year, two in the near future — coming to Pueblo's west side (krdo.com) — Major road and transit upgrades are coming to Pueblo’s northwest side, including extending Sun Mountain Boulevard and improving 68 bus stops with nearly $17 million in funding. Construction is expected to start next year and run through 2027, while two additional projects—a long-discussed 24th Street bridge and a High Street extension—are being designed to better connect I-25, Pueblo Boulevard, and Pueblo West.
   

2. Pueblo police arrest suspect shot by homeowner during break-in (gazette.com) — A Pueblo homeowner shot a man in the leg after allegedly finding him inside their residence during a suspected break-in, leading to the man’s arrest. Police say the suspect, who reported being homeless, was later booked into Pueblo County Jail on a second-degree burglary charge. No other injuries were reported.
   

3. Debate intensifies over proposed school mergers in Pueblo School District 60 (krdo.com) — Pueblo District 60 is moving forward with a sweeping “rightsizing” plan that could merge or repurpose several neighborhood schools and expand preschool access, responding to declining enrollment and building capacity issues. Columbian Elementary and Bessemer Academy are at the center of the most heated debate, as teachers and district leaders clash over which campus should absorb more students and how to avoid future consolidations.
   

4. Pueblo D70 School Board member abruptly resigns (koaa.com) — A Pueblo District 70 school board member, Anne Ochs, abruptly resigned during Tuesday night’s meeting after a parent questioned her role in approving a Christian-focused school tied to her later employer. District 70 says it’s working on a smooth transition while keeping attention on serving students, staff, and the wider Pueblo County community.
   

5. A Hyperloop Record Was Set in Pueblo and They Didn't Use 100% Power (kool1079.com) — A hyperloop test track in Pueblo just set a new speed record, even while running at only 60% power, underscoring the city’s role in cutting-edge transportation research. Swisspod’s capsule hit 63 miles per hour at the local facility, with future tests aiming for far higher speeds that could someday reshape freight and passenger travel across Colorado and beyond.
