Steamboat's annual Murphy Roberts Holiday Classic returns Friday, Saturday (steamboatpilot.com) — Steamboat Springs residents can catch top-level alpine ski racing for free this Friday through Sunday at Howelsen Hill as the 24th annual Murphy Roberts Holiday Classic returns. Local U.S. Ski Team athletes and international racers will compete in day and night slalom events, with festive extras like a DJ, fire pits, and hot drinks, plus a scholarship honoring former athlete Murphy Roberts.

Oak Creek man arrested following social media threats to Steamboat Springs, Old Town Hot Springs (steamboatpilot.com) — Steamboat Springs police arrested a 33-year-old Oak Creek man Tuesday after staff at Old Town Hot Springs reported harassment and out-of-state callers flagged threatening TikTok videos aimed at Steamboat Springs and the facility’s employees. Officers say they found more than two dozen recent posts, leading to an arrest downtown, a protection order barring him from Old Town Hot Springs, and a January 6 court date.
   

4. Steamboat man sentenced in Walden crash that killed pedestrian (skyhinews.com) — A Steamboat Springs resident has been sentenced to probation, jail time, and community service after a deadly 2024 crash in Walden that killed one young woman and seriously injured another. The judge also ordered treatment, driving courses, an apology letter, and a long-term no-contact order protecting the victims’ families.
