1 Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting In Prospect: State Police
Prospect police responded to a report of a suspicious incident at an address on Friday afternoon, state police said.
PROSPECT, CT — One person was shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting on Friday in Prospect, according to state police.
At 4:49 p.m. Prospect police responded to a report of a "suspicious incident" at an address on Merriman Lane, state police said.
"Shortly after arriving at the address, investigators made contact with an individual. A Prospect Officer at the scene discharged their duty weapon at the individual, causing injury. No other persons in the surrounding area were injured," state police said in a news release. EMS responded to the address and the individual was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. There is no ongoing threat to the public."

State police said this is an ongoing investigation led by the Office of the Inspector General, assisted by the Waterbury State’s Attorney, detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad and Troop I.
