18,000 CT Residents Still Without Power Tuesday: Town-By-Town Updates

CONNECTICUT — About 20,000 Connecticut residents are still without power for a second day after Sunday/Monday's powerful storm dropped several inches of rain and produced wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

Eversource officials said on Tuesday that power should be fully restored by 11 p.m. Wednesday.

"Heavy rain impacted Connecticut, with totals ranging from 2″ to 5″. The rain fell over a short period of time, leading to multiple flood warnings for various rivers across the state," said WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Mike Slifer with Scot Haney. "Some flash flooding occurred, too. Wind gusts ramped up, with gusts 40-60 mph statewide. Some towns gusted even higher, with a notable gust of 66 mph in Stamford, 62 mph in Storrs, and 61 mph in Willimantic." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).

A Flood Warning remains in effect for:

• Farmington River At Simsbury affecting Hartford County.
• Connecticut River At Hartford affecting Middlesex and Hartford Counties.
• Still River at Brookfield.
• Housatonic River at Stevenson Dam.

Power outage update as of Tuesday morning

Eversource is reporting 18,400 outages as of Tuesday afternoon.
