Automatic College Admission Program Makes It A Breeze To Get Into College In CT: Lamont
Gov. Lamont urges students to use Connecticut's Automatic Admission Program, guaranteeing spots at 10 colleges with strong grades.
CONNECTICUT — Gov. Ned Lamont is reminding Connecticut high school students that strong grades can secure them a spot in college through the state’s Automatic Admission Program, which streamlines the process of applying to 10 public and private institutions.
Launched in 2022, the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP) offers guaranteed acceptance to graduating seniors who meet minimum grade requirements: a 3.0 weighted GPA or a 2.75 unweighted GPA. The program eliminates application fees, essays and recommendation letters, requiring only one form to be submitted through the nonprofit Common App.
“We created this program because we want to simplify the application process and encourage high school students who never thought that they could go to college that it is possible,” Lamont said in a statement released Thursday. “The only thing this program requires is good grades.”
