Boys Volleyball State Tournaments Set To Commence; Brackets Released

CONNECTICUT — June is just around the corner, which means warmer weather and plenty of outdoor activities are on the horizon. High school state tournaments are getting underway in various sports across Connecticut, with plenty of exciting action sure to be forthcoming.

Some of that action will take place indoors, in the form of a pair of CIAC boys volleyball tournaments. Brackets were released Friday morning, and nearly three dozen teams from around the state will battle to make it to Newtown High School, site of the championship matches on June 6.

Of the 35 qualifying teams, 13 hail from schools in Hartford and Tolland counties. Here are the qualifying and opening-round matchups for those area squads; click the class headers for complete brackets.
