CPSC Recalls Products Posing Risks To CT Children And Off-Road Drivers
Baby seats, blenders, and off-road vehicles are among the latest recalls due to fire, injury, and suffocation risks, per CPSC alerts.
CONNECTICUT — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled a few products that pose a danger to Connecticut babies, toddlers and off-road enthusiasts, among others, in the first week in April.

The power switch on the USB cord of about 29,000 sold Room2Room LED Iridescent Bear Lights can overheat and melt, posing fire and burn hazards, according to the CPSC.
The defective units were sold at Five Below stores nationwide and online at fivebelow.com from September 2024 through February 2025 for about $12.

The lights, made in China, measure about 7.5 inches tall by 9.3 inches wide, and have a USB plug with an on/off switch. “Room 2 Room,” “LED Iridescent Bear Light” and model number “LD-0030” are on a sticker on the bottom of the bear. The UPC code “1922340368444” is printed on the bottom of the packaging.

The CPSC recalled Vivitar Blender Bottles, sold at Target and manufactured in China, when the agency learned the blender’s blades can continue to operate when the bottle is not attached to the blender, posing a laceration hazard. The approximately 199,000 units in the recall are made of clear plastic and have a white plastic base with a white top. "VIVITAR," "Description: Blender Bottle," "ITEM: ES15-BB-TA" and "MID #5220824" are printed on a sticker located under the white plastic base of the bottle. "MID #5220824"is also stamped on the underside of the white plastic base.
Consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled blender bottles and contact importer Sakar for instructions on how to receive a full refund in the form of a $5 Target gift card or a check, and a pre-paid return shipping label. The recalled blender must be returned to Sakar to receive the refund. Proof of purchase is not required. The sliding arm on a $2 window hinge track can disengage, causing the window sash to fall, posing an impact injury hazard to consumers, the CPSC warns. Made in Mexico, about 200,000 units of Ashland 10-inch and 14-inch two-bar casement window hinge tracks were sold to various window manufacturers or service parts providers nationwide from April 2024 through January 2025. The casement window hinge tracks include parts numbers 2003558, 2003559, 2004271 and 2004272. These products can be identified by locating “R10,” “L10,” “R14” or “L14” located on the face of the casement window hinge track.
Consumers should leave windows in the closed and locked positions and immediately contact distributor AmesburyTruth to coordinate a free window inspection by a professional, who will install free replacement hinge tracks for those with a manufacturing defect.

About 910 RZR Pro R and RZR Pro R 4 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles made in 2022-2025 were just recalled. The fasteners on the vehicle’s rollover protective structure pillar joints can be missing or loose, and fail to protect the occupants if the vehicle rolls over or tips over. This poses an injury hazard, according to the CPSC. The vehicles were made in Mexico, and imported by Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, MN.

The recalled vehicles were sold in black, blue, gray, green and orange, and in two- and four-seat configurations. “POLARIS” is stamped on the front grille and “POLARIS” and “RZR” are printed on the sides of the vehicle. The model name is also printed on the side of the chassis. The VIN is located on the vehicle’s frame in the left rear wheel well.

About 2,750 multiple high chairs that pose a suffocation risk because they were marketed for infant sleep and have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees, in violation of the CPSC’s Infant Sleep Products Rule and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act.
The chairs were sold online exclusively at Amazon.com from April 2023 through August 2024 for between $79 and $220, manufactured in China, and distributed by Honeyjoy Company of Fontana, CA. The recall involves high chairs made of metal and plastic with a cloth seat in various colors/prints. A sewn-in label with the model number and date of manufacture can be found on the top cover of the seat.

About 30 LVOE Hair Dryers lack an immersion protection device and can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution or shock if they fall into water when plugged in. The units were manufactured in China and sold online at AliExpress.com from April 2023 through December 2024 for between $117 and $185.
Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the dryer and contact AliExpress at us_product_recall@aliexpress.com to receive a full refund.

About 1,050 Superb Sports Baby Bath Seats violate the federal safety regulation for infant bath seats, including requirements for stability and leg openings, and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death to babies due to drowning hazard, according to the CPSC. The recalled seats were made in China, sold in light blue only online at Amazon.com from February 2024 through November 2024 for between $46 and $60,and are about 12 inches long, 13 inches wide and 8 inches high.
Consumers should stop using the recalled bath seats immediately, and contact DualOranges Store at info@dualoranges.com, or at 980-398-2313 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, for information on how to dispose of the product and submit a photograph to obtain a full refund.

About 1,772 Children’s Steel Utility Bunk Beds have been recalled by Interior Resources. The spacing between the guardrail and end support and the spacing around the mattress supports are greater than allowed, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards to children, according to regulators.
Consumers are being advised to disassemble the beds immediately. Disassembly instructions are available from Interior Resources, who will also ship customers a free repair kit, and schedule a free installation of the repair kit by a professional when it becomes available from the manufacturer.

George Oliver-branded dressers have been found to be unstable if they are not properly anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards, and the two additional metal support legs also present tripping hazards, according to a recall from the CPSC. The dressers violate performance and warning label requirements of the STURDY Act. If you purchased one of about 220 units that shipped, manufacturer Pliman and Wayfair to receive a full refund. Write “RECALL” on the dressers using a permanent marker, disassemble them and submit a photo of the disposed product to plimangeorgeoliver@gmail.com.
