Severe Thunderstorms To Bring 'Large Hail, 'Damaging Wind Gusts' To CT
A timeline for potentially severe thunderstorms on Sunday has been released by meteorologists. Here are the full forecast details.
Some areas of Connecticut are waking up to some rain showers and downpours, but the real weather action is forecast for Sunday afternoon and evening.
"Temperatures rise into the middle and upper 80s but the humid air will create a feel in the lower 90s," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "An approaching cold front causes isolated to scattered showers and storms to form this afternoon and evening.
"The earliest the activity could develop is after 2pm, though the greatest coverage looks to set up after 4pm before exiting southeast after 10pm," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Storms will have the capability of producing downpours leading to localized flooding, frequent lightning, damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a very low but non-zero chance for a tornado.

"The week starts with temperatures running below average under a clear sky, cool nights, pleasant afternoons. By Wednesday, we’re trending closer to normal. By the end of the week we could be looking at yet another heat wave with temperatures rising into the 90s starting Thursday and continuing into the weekend. It would be our 3rd heat wave of the year and because it’s going to be humid, it will create a heat index of 95-100+ and reaching a max on Friday which is a First Alert Weather Day," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
