Meteorologist Lorin Richardson said the next batch of wet weather begins early Tuesday.

"That rain will be heavy at times and it all depends on the direction, but right now the shoreline looks like the jackpot for rain totals," Richardson said. "We could have a couple embedded thunderstorms too, some which could even be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts possible and even the slight risk for a tornado. The heaviest rain looks to set up along the shoreline.

"After the morning commute, things quiet down for a bit," Richardson added. "Most of the afternoon should be dry but the shower chances climb again by Tuesday evening. We could see some heavy rainfall at times and there is still the chance for a couple storms."

She did say the upcoming weekend weather forecast does look "FANTASTIC - a little cooler but bright and perfect for any outdoor activities." (Watch the full WFSB 3 TV weather forecast here).
