Once the sunshine returns on Sunday, we'll notice fall-like temperatures, with readings near 60 degrees on Sunday and Monday.
The National Weather Service said a "strong cold front" is responsible for the rapidly changing weather. The heaviest rain is forecast Friday night into Saturday, with the main threat being "minor roadway flooding," according to the weather service.

Wind gusts will increase on Sunday and Monday to 15-20 mph and possibly up to 25-35 mph, the weather service said.
"The storm system is poorly timed for the weekend," wrote WFSB 3 TV Chief Meteorologist Mark Dixon with Mike Slifer. "Yes, another weekend will be impacted by rain --- if you’re keeping track, since June 1st there have 18 weekends and rain has fallen on 13 of them! There is still some uncertainty surrounding just how wet the weekend will be, depending on how tropical moisture from Philippe interacts with a cold front moving into and through the region. Certainly plan on at least periods of rain Saturday, with high temps in the 60s. We’ve declared a FIRST ALERT as rain could be heavy, impacting outdoor plans and potentially renewing flood concerns."
