Snow accumulation estimates have been released for two systems, including Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Here are the new details.

CONNECTICUT — A special weather statement has been issued for coastal sections of southern Connecticut as a light snow accumulation is forecast late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

"Light snow will overspread the area late this evening and continue through the early Wednesday morning hours. The snow will end before sunrise. Snowfall accumulations around 1 inch are forecast. Snow covered roads are expected, especially on untreated surfaces. Use extra caution if you are traveling tonight," the National Weather Service said concerning southern Connecticut.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties for snow and sleet on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Tuesday night/Wednesday AM

"The northern shield of snow is expected to graze southern CT tonight. Dry air looks to be overcome and light snow falls across southern CT and especially coastal CT after 10pm through about 3am Wednesday. If you live in southern CT, go ahead and treat your walkways etc. just in case it’s a little slick by morning. A coating up to 1″ of snowfall is possible."

Wednesday night/Thursday

"New guidance shows a wintry mix developing after 10pm Wednesday inland and a wintry mix and rain along coastal CT. As warmer air moves in, first aloft and then down to ground level, the wintry mix will change to rain from south to north. By 3am Thursday, the wintry mix appears to be ongoing inland but is all rain across southern CT counties. By 7am, light freezing rain and or freezing drizzle remains possible across northern CT, with just light rain showers and or drizzle points south. Snowfall amounts inland will range from a coating to 1″ and locally 2-3″ can’t be ruled out across NE Litchfield and NW Hartford counties. A layer of sleet will fall on top, and then a glaze up to a tenth of an inch of ice, leading to slick walking and driving conditions, which has led to Thursday’s *First Alert Weather Day* given the impact to the AM commute.

Saturday night/Sunday

"Saturday is initially dry with highs in the mid-30s. Toward and after sunset, snow appears to become likely. However, as temperatures rise overnight, we anticipate a transition over to rain. Rain continues Sunday, and it could be heavy at times as temperatures head into the 40s. The rain, combined with snow melt, could lead to nuisance type flooding. As a strong cold front moves through later in the day, we could see a quick transition back to snow before ending. Behind the front, a shot of dramatically colder air arrives on an intense wind! Monday is bright with highs likely staying below freezing, factoring in the wind it will feel much colder. We’ll be monitoring, but this far out it appears gusts could go well over 40 mph!"
