CT Weather: Snow Accumulation Estimates Rise For Weekend Storm

A significant weekend winter storm has led to a winter storm watch being issued for Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — A winter storm watch has been issued for the entire state in advance of a significant winter storm Saturday night and Sunday.

The snow is forecast to begin after 8 p.m. Saturday and continue until midday Sunday.

"The latest track of this storm is coming in colder, therefore snowier. So, as snow begins to fall Saturday night, it becomes steady and at times moderate to heavy. Snow continues Sunday morning. While some mixing may take place in southeastern CT, the storm track favors mostly snow. Snow will wind down into the late morning and early afternoon. Totals are expected to be between 6 and 10″ inland and 3 to 6″ closer to the Sound," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
