Winter Weather Advisories Issued As Snow Accumulation Totals Rise
Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for most of Connecticut as snow accumulation estimates continue to increase.
CONNECTICUT — Snow accumulation estimates have increased for parts of Connecticut, as light snow is expected to drop up to four inches of snow on parts of the state by early Monday.
The snow isn't expected to be a big deal, but it may impact the Monday morning commute and some schools.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for inland sections of southern Connecticut.

"Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches," the weather service said for inland sections of southern Connecticut. "From 6 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Monday. The bulk of the snowfall will fall within a three hour period between 7 PM and 3 AM....The precipitation could potentially end with a brief period of freezing drizzle."
A winter weather advisory has also been issued for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties. "Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches, localized higher amounts in the Berkshires....Snow will develop from west to east between 7 and 9 pm. The snow may become briefly heavy at times late this evening before tapering off between 2 and 4 am."

A winter weather advisory has also been issued for Litchfield County. "Snow and patchy light freezing drizzle expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches and ice accumulations up to a light glaze.
And along the immediate coast of southern Connecticut, no advisories have been issued but 1 to 3 inches of snow and rain is forecast to accumulate.
"Clouds continue to build in and snow is forecast to reach western CT after 6pm and reach areas east through 8pm. Light to moderate snowfall is expected through midnight, then tapering off from west to east starting at 1am and ending east by 3am. Mixing is possible at the immediate shoreline where around 1″ of snowfall is expected. Amounts inland will range from 1-2″, though locally higher amounts around 3-4″ is possible too across the higher terrain. Slick spots could become an issue tonight, so leave plenty of extra time if you have travel plans. Don’t forget to treat your walkways, steps, and driveway," according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 45. South wind 3 to 7 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a temperature rising to near 41 by 10am, then falling to around 34 during the remainder of the day. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33.
Wednesday Night: Snow likely before 3am, then snow and sleet likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Thursday: Freezing rain and sleet before 9am, then rain. High near 43. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
Saturday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.
